Diversity Day Event 2012
What is diversity day about?
Diversity Day is a Special Event held by Swansea Bay Regional Equality Council with participating Schools. These will be fun packed introductions to raising awareness and educating school pupils about communities and the integration of people from all walks of life within their local communities.
The Event takes place for an entire school day and will include fun and educational workshops which would last approximately an hour. There will be one compulsory workshop which is an exciting quiz to engage the students.
Pupils will awaken their senses and experience different cultures and communities from all over the glob, including Brazil, Middle East, India, and Africa.
A celebration of the best music and dance from all over the world including:
- African Dancing
- Belly Dancing
- African Drumming
- Henna Painting
Also a talk from the City of Sanctuary about equality issues
In addition, they will have the opportunity to sample / celebrate the flavours and smells of food around the world in our food tasters sessions.
There will also be educational workshops for all pupils participating, that will be insightful and well balanced to help integrate communities with better understanding of each other. These educational workshops will feature all six mandates of diversity i.e race, diversity, gender, religious, age and sexual orientation.
