Magistrates Recruitment

No Comments Current News

Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service has just launched a campaign to recruit Magistrates. It is a wonderful opportunity for people from different walks of life to bring their life experiences to Magistrates Benches across Wales.

“Magistracy is a voluntary commitment and requires a comprehensive understanding of how society functions as well as personal integrity amongst other qualities . Despite the common belief that it may require you to have legal qualifications, it does not”, said Mr Taha Idris, CEO of Swansea Bay REC who is a Magistrate himself. He went on to add, “there is a need for people from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities to come forward to be considered and I would encourage them to apply if they think they have the necessary skills”.

The leaflet attached to this post gives further details of who to contact if you wish to be considered for the position. If you have difficulties in accessing the poster please email: GSWLegalAdmin@HMCTS.GSI.GOV.UK or telephone 02920 474346

Police Community Support Officer Recruitment

No Comments Current News

Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are at the very heart of our communities. They tend to work with local people at a grassroots level with a remit to support operational policing. Their very presence in the neighbourhoods provides reassurance to members of the public and the communities at large.

South Wales Police (SWP) have recently announced that they intend to recruit some PCSOs to supplement policing in our neighbourhoods (PCSO Recruitment). It is pleasing to see that this recruitment drive is being supplemented by some  positive action by the South Wales Police’ Positive Action Officer, Mrs Uzo Iwobi, OBE. She has undertaken to provide support and guidance to members of our communities at a forthcoming event. In this respect she has organised a familiarisation session which is being held on Friday 27th January between 10:30am and 12:30pm at the Pontardawe Arts Centre, Herbert Street, Pontardawe SA8 4ED.

Spaces are limited so if you would like to reserve a space please contact Rhys Thomas on 07805 301532 in the first instance.
