National Volunteers’ Week 2016

1st – 12th June 2016 marked this year’s National Volunteers Week. The annual celebration of the day was held on Friday 3rd June, hosted by the Lord Mayor of Swansea at the Swansea Bay REC offices where volunteers were thanked for their immense contribution tot he work of Swansea Bay REC. The volunteers, in turn, shared their experiences with all staff and guests present.

The Lord Mayor awarded Volunteers Week certificates of recognition to each of the volunteers in attendance. The day was a fulfilling experience with a lot of positive feeling coming from volunteers and staff as well. Cakes and other variety of foods from around the world was shared. The day concluded with a formal ‘thank you’ from Swansea Bay REC Chair, Mr Nick Tregoning and Board Trustee, Mrs Gwenda Jones .

The staff and Trustees of SBREC would like to say a HUGE thank you once again to all volunteers who have contributed to SBREC for the last year. It has been a pleasure working alongside you all and we hope to continue working with you in the future weeks, months and years ahead.

Swansea Bay REC’s Annual General Meeting

Swansea Bay REC held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 11th July 2012 at Swansea University’s Council Chambers. At the AGM, members had the opportunity to elect the organisation’s Chair, Vice Chair and members to serve on the Executive Committee.

Mrs Angella Gullam, RGN from Neath was elected Chair for the second year. Mr Nick Tregoning was elected as the Vice Chair for the ensuing year. Newly elected members of the Executive Committee included Mrs Aisha Rasul Iftikhar (pictured below) as well as Mr Arjan Ali, Dr Minkesh Sood, Mrs Amy Moore and Mr Nick Tregoning (the four pictured right).
The meeting was attended by the general members with special guests including Deputy Lord Mayor of Swansea, Cllr June Stanton & Deputy Mayoress, Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Cllr Martyn Peters, Vice Chancellor of Swansea University, Professor Richard Davies, Police Commander Superintendent Joe Ruddy and Swansea Fire Service Chief Richie Webborn.
