Myanmar – the human suffering continues …

No Comments Current News, Human Rights

We keep hearing of human suffering in the region of Myanmar which has seen people from Rohingyan ethnic origins try to flee what they have seen as persecution from the indigenous communities.

Videos and photographs abound of the types of atrocities that can only be described as inhuman. We wish to express our solidarity with the people who suffer human rights violations wherever they may be. More specifically, we would wish to offer support to members of our communities who may have links with the Rohingya communities in Myanmar.

We wish to ask the Myanmar Government and other neighbouring nations such as Bangladesh and India to do something positive to alleviate the suffering of these people. In this regard it is also about time that our own politicians, who have international remit, to turn their attention to the suffering of these people.
