Nick Tregoning was elected as the Chair of Swansea Bay REC in August 2014, having represented the City and County of Swansea on the Executive Committee of the organisation for a number of years. His position as Chair was confirmed at Swansea Bay REC’s Annual General Meeting held in August 2014.
Nick has lived in Swansea since 1986, and has been a Swansea City Councillor from 1999 to 2012. He was the Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Services until May 2012, having previously been the Council’s Presiding Officer.
Nick went to Manchester University, where he obtained a degree in Psychology and English. After that, he worked in Bradford University, and then came to Swansea where he was the Union Manager of the University Students’ Union. He is now the Regional Manager for an Assembly Member (AM) of the Welsh Government.
Nick is determined to be an advocate for local people. His Social Services experience makes him passionate about giving every child a fair start in life.
